new year's card

My great idea this year was to send out a New Year's card from pure photography.  Wondering why you didn't get one?  Welllll, I got them half made & then slacked off & never finished the other side.  I was feeling productive today, so I finished the second side.  Since it'd be a little late (no comments, please) to send it out now, I thought I'd at least share it with you all here.  So, to all of my wonderful clients of 2008, thank you & have a wonderful 2009!

Hello!  Since I took a mini break in December, I didn't get a chance to show you any of the cards that I did.  Our card was a 2 sided card on heavy, glossy cardstock.  The other 2 were one sided on photographic paper.  Enjoy!

Here's a photo shoot from back in October that I've been waiting to blog.  This is the family that I've photographed more times than any other.  If you want a reminder, here's their blog post from last year.  It's so funny to look back at last year's pictures and see how much everyone's grown!  Not to mention, there's a new baby in the picture now (pun only slightly intended).  Luckily, she's just as cute as the other three.  Not that there was any doubt that she would be!  So, without further ado, I give you the Thompson family...

I've known this family for quite awhile now, but I'm always so happy when I get to do pictures for them.  I did maternity pictures for Jennie the night before she had Zander (we didn't know we were cutting it that close at the time).  Jennie was also in my senior portfolio project at school.  I did Zander's two year pictures last year (click here to see them again) & this year, as you can see, I got to photograph the whole family!  This was labor day weekend and it was soooo hot all day long.  Luckily, by the time that we did the photo shoot in the evening, the heat of the day had transformed into a perfect, breezy evening.  Enjoy your little peek at our wonderful summer night...

Sometimes my favorite shots are the ones that I get when I'm testing the light.

So, in this shot, I was tilting the camera to get an interesting angle.  Well, Wade thought it'd be funny if they all tilted too.  haha Wade.
